Flying kitties to their forever homes
The Hawaiian islands are overrun with an unfixed, out-of-control cat population.
There are a handful of amazing, dedicated people here fighting daily to TNRM and to get vet care for the many sick, injured, abused, abandoned, and dumped cats. Every day, critical cases are coming in, emergency funds are being raised, and multiple rescuers are coming together to move mountains to save each precious life.
But we have more kitties coming in than we can adopt out, and our foster system is bursting at the seams. So how do we mitigate this? Where do we send our kitties once they are ready for adoption, after all that effort to save them?
We fly them. Healthy, friendly, adoptable cats travel to our rescue partners on the mainland US, where there is a much higher chance of them finding their forever families.
